Originally recorded at Huff Recording Studio in Laurel, Mississippi, the album was remastered in 2024 by David Huff at Huff Recording Studio in Defiance, Missouri. The title draws from Matthew 25:6, giving the project an overall theme of anticipation and spiritual readiness.

The album features David Huff on guitars, mandolin, piano, and lead vocals; Clayborn Huff on bass; Rayborn Huff on organ, ARP Quadra, String Ensemble and Poly Korg; Gerald Hagan on piano and Quadra; and Keith Thibodeaux on drums. Additional musicians contribute harmonica, congas, tambourines, percussion, and background vocals.
